Baseball Innovation Museum
Welcome to the Baseball Innovation Museum — the first digital museum dedicated entirely to the innovative devices that transformed baseball throughout history.
The museum is established by the Baseball Innovation League Association, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.
What We Preserve
We focus on one thing: the tools, equipment, and devices that changed how baseball is played.
From the earliest handmade baseballs to the latest sensor-equipped bats, we document the physical innovations that advanced the game.
Our collection includes:
- Bats – From thick-handled ash to modern alloys and composites
- Balls – How they evolved from lemon pegs to today’s standardized sphere
- Gloves – From fingerless leather to broken-in pockets
- Protective Gear – Catcher’s masks, helmets, shin guards
- Training Devices – Pitching machines, swing analyzers, radar guns
- Uniforms – Fabric technology, cooling fabrics, moisture wicking
- Stadium Innovations – Scoreboards, lighting, turf, replay systems
What We Do Not Cover
We do not focus on players, teams, statistics, or strategy — unless they connect directly to a device innovation. Our lens is the hardware of baseball.
Why Devices Matter
Every innovation on the field started as a device in someone’s hands. A better bat meant more hits. A better glove meant fewer errors. A better helmet meant longer careers.
These devices tell the story of baseball through objects — what was made, how it worked, and how it changed the game.
Online Only. Always Open.
Because we are digital, we can showcase more devices than any physical museum could hold. No glass cases. No storage limits. Just detailed images, stories, and specifications for every device in our collection.
Researchers, collectors, coaches, and curious fans can explore anytime, anywhere — for free.
A 501(c)(3) Nonprofit
